MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Time passes very quickly and this “summer like” spring that we have enjoyed makes us almost forget that the summer holidays are almost upon us and with them a lot of exciting activities in Morzine.  Some are offered by the Tourist Office and are available to all visitors, whilst others of a cultural and sporting nature, are offered by the ARM primarily for members and are characterized by their friendliness.  You will find details in this issue.

We also have our Annual General Meeting, which this year is on 8 August 2011. 

I invite your active participation.  This is an opportunity for you to take stock of the Association and to meet local leaders who are very willing to listen our concerns.

In this this connection I encourage everyone to send me by e-mail or letter details of any problems encountered during your stay, so that I can discuss them with the Municipal Team at our next meeting.

At our AGM we have three outside speakers: one covering the Cable Car project (the Project Leader at the Town Hall); one concerning the recycling of household waste and one covering the agricultural prospects of Morzine (Mr Baud, Secretary of the Local Association).

Finally, I would like to pay tribute to Jean Pierre Giry, a great participator in the affairs of the ARM, who was a founding member and Treasurer for ten years, President for nine years and Honorary President since 2005.  Jean Pierre has sold his chalet to retire to his native Nancy. Although he has left the ARM in body, I am sure he is still with us in spirit.  Thank you Jean Pierre and good luck.
